A lecture connected to the MeDeMAP – Mapping Media for Future Democracies project, delivered by Nico Carpentier on 4 March in Cyprus, has generated media attention, resulting in a news article published by Gündem Kıbrıs Gazetesi.
Held at Eastern Mediterranean University, the lecture titled “Interventionist Research: The Case of the Czech Citizen Parliament on Media and Democracy” explored how participatory and deliberative approaches can strengthen democratic engagement with media systems.
Drawing on the example of the Czech Citizens’ Parliament, Carpentier discussed how citizens can be actively involved in shaping media-related policies, reinforcing the importance of inclusive and interventionist research practices — key principles underpinning the MeDeMAP project.
