The report on MeDeMAP’s Citizens’ Parliaments (CPs) is now available on the project website. The deliverable documents the implementation of CPs on Media and Democracy, implemented by the Work Package 6 partners COMMIT, Charles University (CU), MI, and MIC in Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Ireland.
The MeDeMAP blog follows the participatory action research approach of WP6, “Supply meets demand”, engaging citizens directly in the project’s research process. Between March and May 2025, twenty citizens participated in four Citizens’ Parliaments, learning, deliberating, and adopting resolutions on key topics, including:
- Media and democracy
- Media systems and regulation
- Representation in the media
- Participation in and through the media.
The blog has accompanied the CPs from their launch to the presentation of their results at the national level. Contributions include announcements, session reports, and national presentations, complemented with photographs from the sessions. Final reflections have already been published by COMMIT, CU, and MI.
The MeDeMAP Blog remains open for further contributions, including:
- The national presentation of the Irish CP results
- A roundtable on CP experiences at the upcoming MeDeMAP Plenary Meeting (September 2025)
- Presentation of all four CPs at the European Parliament in early 2026.
In addition, COMMIT continues to publish related posts on the Electronic Platform for Adult Learning in Europe (EPALE), reaching a broader European audience engaged in adult education.
The publication of Deliverable D6.3 marks an important milestone in bringing citizens’ voices into research on media and democracy, demonstrating the value of participatory approaches in understanding and shaping the media landscape.
