Drawing on empirical research conducted in multiple European countries, the collection explores how people experience contemporary information environments and the role of media in democratic life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The issue opens with an introduction by IULM University researchers Elisabetta Risi, Giulia Ferri, and Andrea Miconi, setting the scene for the thematic collection and reflecting on the evolving connections between media, democracy, and citizen perspectives in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dossier includes seven research articles covering a wide range of national contexts and themes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Slovenia:<\/strong> Citizen perceptions of media autonomy (by Brankica PETKOVI\u0106, Mojca PAJNIK);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Portugal:<\/strong> Journalists&#8217; and audiences&#8217; contrasting perceptions (by Nuno Cintra TORRES, Tatiana CHERVYKOVA, Manuel Jos\u00e9 DAM\u00c1SIO);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Italy:<\/strong> Digital trust, political communication, and participation (by Elisabetta RISI, Giulia FERRI, Andrea MICONI);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>France:<\/strong> Citizens, media, and democratic trust (by Morgane LE GUYADER, Inna LYUBAREVA, Romain BILLOT);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Czech Republic:<\/strong> Discursive-material perspectives on media and democracy (by Karol\u00edna \u0160IMKOV\u00c0, Jeffrey WIMMER);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Estonia:<\/strong> Mediated contact with politicians and democratic experiences (by Kristiina RAUD, Alessandro NAN\u00cc);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Austria:<\/strong> A broader European perspective on democracy, societal change, and information environments (by Maren BEAUFORT).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, these contributions provide a comprehensive overview of how Europeans navigate trust, media systems, and democratic participation in an increasingly complex communication landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The full issue is now available online and can be accessed here: <a href=\"https:\/\/essachess.com\/3\/index.php\/jcs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/essachess.com\/3\/index.php\/jcs<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The publication of the MeDeMAP special issue of the Journal of Creative Communications, titled &#8220;Citizens&#8217; Perceptions of Media and Democracy across Europe&#8221;, is out.
